Pandagon reports recently that Bogata mayor Lonegan refuses to perform civil unions. This is the same mook bitching about English only at McDonald's. Unfortunately he's not alone. The Hawthorne Press ran an artlicle last week saying that 3 out of 4 local mayors, including mayor Patrick Botbyl of Hawthorne, refuse to perform civil unions.
Botbyl claims his religion, he's a Catholic, prohibits him from performing these ceremonies. Who does he serve, the people of Hawthorne or the Pope?
