"Outscoring' is a great example of language that means one thing to initiates of a subculture, but to outsiders just sounds incredibly stupid. In my job in financial journalism, every quarter I have to excise sentences like "Acme Corp. is expected to meet earnings expectations." Mind you, that sentence is of only marginal value even to initiates.
