I'm watching you watching me

This is a little disturbing.

Basically, Netvocates is an organization that sends people out to web logs to post propoganda in comments. They appear to be tied to conservatives and there appears to be a tie to townhall.com, the ultra-right-wing web site. Cybersoc.com spent time running down the facts on Netvocates and the man behind Netvocates.
As is This
The scariest group reading my blog may be THE RENDON GROUP. And they keep coming back, over and over again. Here's what SourceWatch writes about this organization:"The RENDON GROUP is a secretive public relations firm that has assisted a number of U.S. military interventions in nations including Argentina, Colombia, Haiti, Iraq, Kosovo, Panama and Zimbabwe. Rendon's activities include organizing the Iraqi National Congress, a PR front group designed to foment the overthrow of Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein.
As far as I can tell most people come to my blog by searching google for “indigenous nudity” or “sleep fucking”. So I guess I’m safe.

Update: This post has created a small bit of buzz. Let me just be clear that I am not the one who noticed the Netvocates connection to trolls. That honor goes to DBK at Blanton's and Ashton's Article II. Section 4. So please, give credit where credit is due.

I've been sniffing around this cyber-snifffing for some time. I am convinced there are paid US psyops agents working in the comments sections of countless blogs, spreading the GOP talking points. iraqthemodel.blogspot.com is a perfect example (just check their stats: 99.9% US readers). I have linked them and their sponsors (Spirit of America, a bogus charity which brought the ITM brothers to Washington for a meeting with Bush and Wolfowitz) to a US thinktank with oil investments and conections to a "grassroots" marketing company called Direct Impact. Search my blog for the details.

I think there is a lot more to this story and would be happy to help track down more leads.

I figured this post would do the trick.

Excellent! Now you're in for it. Welcome to the enemies list. I'm bringing the potato salad.

gandhi,

Please provide a link to you're blog. I'm not sure, how much I can pursue this, but feel free to. And keep me updated with what you find.

I'd like to take you up on your offer, Gandhi. Is it possible to find old messages from a yahoo! message board topic that has been discontinued?

Right before 9/11/01 occured, there was a Yahoo! Message Board on the Israel/Palestinian issues simmering/ boiling over at the time.

In the days leading up to 9/11/01, the week or so before, I started noticing such an increase in the output and rancor of some posters, that I started directly commenting/replying to them, and then would check back 3 or 4 hours later, and again post the same commenter, and see what would happen.

I found that many of the comments were coming from what seemed quite the Zionist point of view. Many less from what I would term the Islamic Fundamentalist take on issues. I directly asked, "Ere you a Zionist, if so, why not stand up and freely state so?", and would be greeted with silence, or sometimes, the person I would comment to, would reply in a way that proved it was a different person, using the same ID.

Understand what I mean? To simplify, I believe these propagandists obtain one or two ID's per site, then numerous paid agitators will use the same ID to comment with.

Indeed, I have directly accused many a blog commentor, or Yahoo! message board poster of being paid.

It is obvious, there is NO REAL support for Bush's schemes, only Rove marching the same paid "troops" back and forth behind the curtain.

Probably using our FICA funds to lie to us.

Damn right. Some of the posters there are so fanatically one-track minded that no amount of contrary evidence will budge them. On the other hand, they Do make excellent punch bags.

I must pop around to ITM again and crack some heads. Thanks for reminding me.
